A series of six new videos from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach have been created to help beginning dairy farmers learn about different types of dairy operations and management systems.

Dairy specialists with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will host webinars on Sept. 19 and 26, entertaining and educating with a dairy version of “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?”

Iowa dairy producers have the opportunity to learn about emerging dairy industry issues at the 2017 Dairy Days hosted by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach specialists. The program is scheduled at seven eastern Iowa locations between Jan. 16 and Feb. 2.

During June Dairy Month, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is offering several educational opportunities across the state to learn about dairy farming first-hand.

Dairy producers in northeast Iowa will learn how to improve and manage their transition cow program at the 2016 Transition Cow Field Days hosted by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach specialists. The program is scheduled at seven Iowa locations in March.

Iowa dairy producers have the opportunity to learn about emerging dairy industry issues at the 2016 Dairy Days at seven eastern Iowa locations in January and February.

Registration is open for the Midwest Dairy Day scheduled for Dec. 4, 2015. The workshop, Genomics 101: Putting Genomics to Work, will be held  at Iowa’s Dairy Center located at 1527 Highway 150 S, Calmar, 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Informational meetings regarding the Margin Protection Program for Dairy will be held at three locations on Friday, Sept. 11, 10 a.m. - noon.

In a step-by-step approach, instructions will be offered for reading a manure test and determining how much of the crop nutrient needs can be met with manure applications.

Iowa’s dairy farmers deliver a wholesome and nutritious supply of milk and dairy products every day and June is the perfect time to celebrate their contributions to Iowa's wellness and economy.
