Crop advisors, agronomists and agribusiness professionals are encouraged to take a day this summer to learn about and improve their knowledge of diagnostics and identification of common issues in corn and soybean fields at the Field Diagnostics Clinic, hosted by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.

The Field Scouting Basics Workshop, designed for beginning-level crop scouts, provides hands-on, in-field experience to crop scouts for the 2017 growing season.

A Field Crop Scout School designed for beginning crop scouts will be held Saturday, March 25, at the Scheman Building in Ames. The day-long course features sessions on crop growth and development, scouting methods and techniques, and identification of weeds, diseases and insects.

Anyone with an interest in learning more about the biology, sampling, scouting and management of soybean cyst nematodes is welcome to attend the Soybean Cyst Nematode Clinic on Tuesday, Aug. 23, at Field Extension Education Laboratory in Boone, Iowa.

Agribusiness professionals and crop producers will learn about in-season crop management practices at the Mid-Season Crop Management Clinic, July 13-14.

The Field Scouting Basics Workshop is a course for beginning corn and soybean crop scouts. The workshop builds on the fundamentals of crop scouting covered during the ISU Extension and Outreach Field Crop Scout School in February.
